Our Story

Roots & Rides was founded on the powerful principles of relationship building and kindness. Over the past five years, we’ve cultivated a spirit of love by sharing our exceptional coffee with friends, family, and colleagues. Our family in Guatemala began sourcing coffee from a small grower for our personal enjoyment. In doing so, we’ve witnessed the significant challenges coffee growers face due to market volatility and the complexities introduced by middlemen in the supply chain. When Juan arrived to the U.S. to study abroad and pursue post-graduate education, he began sharing this remarkable coffee with friends, mentors, and coworkers—each of whom fell in love with its rich flavor and unique story. The subject of coffee often arises when we meet new people, as Guatemalan coffee is celebrated globally for its quality. Inspired by this connection, we decided to establish our own business to forge direct relationships between passionate Guatemalan coffee growers and discerning coffee lovers in the United States.

We create authentic connections that empower farmers, ensure fair compensation, and deliver fresh, specialty coffee to our customers. Rooted in sustainability and authenticity, our aim is to fuel life's adventures—whether on the trails, on the road, or in your everyday journey—by connecting Guatemalan coffee-growing communities with U.S. consumers who appreciate quality and purpose in every cup.

Our vision is to transform the coffee supply chain by creating a direct and transparent pathway from farm to cup, driving economic growth and development for small coffee grower's communities in Guatemala and beyond. We aspire to inspire a global movement of adventurers and coffee lovers who are united by a passion for specialty coffee, sustainable practices, and the richness of exploration—whether it’s a morning ride, a mountain trail, or the pursuit of an unparalleled coffee experience.
